TRUTH BASED HORSEMANSHIP
Subtiliter unus Caballarius

At the heart of Truth Based Horsemanship is a spirit of working to establish a connection with the horse that does not infringe on his nature of self preservation, but builds in him the tools to overcome that nature.
Horses are living, breathing, and FEELING beings and it is of the utmost importance, in our journey, to connect with this essence. This connection involves a careful balance between trust and respect.
It would be naive to think one could achieve this simply through indiscriminate kindness to the horse, but if such kindness and softness are not balanced by sensible boundaries, neither will learn respect or trust. Both go hand in hand. One is not possible without the other.
As it is the rider's responsibility to provide fair and consistent boundaries in the horse's life, God also has provided us with boundaries in his book…The Bible. Those boundaries are in place not to control us but to protect us from our inherent nature that can prove to be ultimately our demise. The boundaries and examples presented in the Word of God are as much applicable to our life journey as they are our horsemanship journey.
In our search and exploration of this “connection” to our horses, we endeavor towards creating and planting seeds of understanding that will ultimately grow to foster a stronger connection with our Father, The Master Horseman
